The Future of Web Apps
Some of today’s most powerful apps rely on their ability to seamlessly operate on multiple platforms. They do this by relying on web languages. Tools like PhoneGap and more recently, Electron, allow web apps to live on Linux, Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and other platforms, all using a single code base. Cloud driven, REST APIs hook into content management systems and payment gateways, allowing data to be accessed in pretty much any programming language. Safari is showing increasing support for progressive web apps while Android has already adopted them full on with things like the Web App Manifest and native push notifications. There’s no doubt about it: apps built in web languages are powerful, optimized, and highly scalable.
